Thinking Out Loud: What's Driving Groupon?

Battelle’s analysis of Groupon is fascinating. 

With all that cash they should buy Yelp & dominate local/mobile.  Lots of synergies as both are building out massively efficient call centers that sell direct to small businesses.

This is why I get out of bed and take a shower in the morning… There’s a wild west land-grab going on in Internet Advertising and according to this Mary Meeker slide: the land is worth about $50 Billion right now. Those that can prove they can add the most value to brands, at scale, will win.
